Digital literacy is not only the ability to use and understand digital technology but also the ability to create content and effectively communicate using a variety of digital media tools.

Definition #2
Digital literacy is the ability to locate, organize, understand, evaluate, and create information using digital technology.  The term ‘digital literacy’ relates to:

  1. The functional skills of knowing about and using digital technology effectively
  2. The ability to analyse and evaluate digital information
  3. Knowing how to act sensibly, safely and appropriately online
  4. Understanding how, when, why and with whom to use technology
