What are Podcasts?
Podcasts are audio files posted online in MP3 format that can easily be downloaded for playback on a personal computer or transferred to a portable MP3 player, iPod, etc.
Users simply connect their portable audio devices to their computer, log on to a podcasting subscription service, and subscribe to that site’s feeds. Audio content is then “pushed” from the original source directly and automatically to the user’s iPod or MP3 player.
This is a great way to learn new things or be entertained while you are doing other things. Listening rather than reading allows you to learn about all sorts of new things while you are walking the dog, exercising, riding on the bus or riding your bike.
Podcast technology also allows the everyday person to publish content to the internet and have people from all over the world listen to their ideas.
