Health is a resource that people need for their everyday lives—it lets them take part in the life of their family, community and society. It also lets them contribute meaningfully to society. In the Northwest Territories we have a relatively young population3. In 1996:
Some aspects of the health of a population reflect its age. For example, injuries or sexually transmitted diseases occur mainly among young people. For the most part, people in the Northwest Territories say their health is good, very good or excellent—only 9% say their health is poor. ______________________ |
