Building Community Partners

The following are possible community partners that may support your workshop by being on a planning or advisory committee, providing support, staff to help with facilitating, or space to run the workshop:

 
  • Aboriginal Head Start program
  • Child Development Centres
  • Income Support workers
  • Early intervention programs
  • Pre-Natal Nutrition Program
  • Child Care Centre
  • Play groups
  • District Education Council
  • Local library/library services
  • School-Community Counselors
  • Teacher and/or Principal
  • Adult Educator
  • Elders
  • Band, Hamlet, or Town Council
  • Friendship Centre
  • Women's groups
  • Youth groups
  • Community Health Representative
 

Finding a Location

The location of your workshop may play a big part in its success. It is important to find a place that is comfortable for everyone. As well, you may want to consider the following things:

  • Has a place to prepare and serve snacks
