Plans for Next Year

Next year the NWT Literacy Council will devote a lot of time to the research and development of a new family literacy model. We hope to develop a manual to help family literacy providers do home literacy visits with families. We will also develop other family literacy resources to help family literacy providers in their work.

Many of the family literacy providers have been asking for more training in different family literacy models. In response to that need we are applying for funding to host a second stage family literacy training in January. The training will be for people who are currently working in family literacy and are interested in sharing information and learning some new techniques.
