Family Literacy News

Welcome to our new family literacy newsletter!

We decided to develop a family literacy newsletter because more and more people and communities are becoming involved in family literacy.

Family literacy programs are running in more than 25 communities in the NWT and there are trained family literacy facilitators in every community in the NWT. Family literacy is making a huge impact in communities!

Family Literacy Programs:

Family Literacy is the way parents, children and other family members use literacy at home and in the community. It is about everyday living:

These activities allow parents to support their children’s learning and they help the children to develop their literacy and language skills too.

Parents are their children’s first teacher!
