Play - Your Child’s Work     

Your child’s job is to play! Just like we spend time at work or in school - children must spend time playing. Children learn about the world around them through play.

Play helps your child:

	learn how to share and play with other children
	improve their fine-motor skills
	improve their gross-motor skills
	solve problems
	use their imagination
	use their knowledge and skills
	“try-on” different roles
	learn how to think of others, not just themselves
	learn how to use symbols - this will help them in their reading skills
	use more and more words
	learn how things work
	learn how to sort, classify and compare
	learn how to organize
