The Yellowknife
Public Library, with
the support of World
Literacy of Canada,
invites Yellowknife residents to a
reading and slide presentation by
author Helene Tremblay. Ms.
Tremblay is the author of Families of
the World, a compilation of stories and
photos that capture the author’s
experiences living with families in more
than 113 countries. The event takes
place on Tuesday November 4 at 7 pm
at the St. Patrick’s High School Gym.

The Rotary
Club of Yellowknife and
Weledeh Catholic School are looking for
volunteer reading buddies to read with
children in the primary grades. For
more information or to volunteer,

The Literacy
Outreach Centre is
looking for tutors for low literacy level
adults. Tutoring adults is a wonderful
way to volunteer your time. There will
be a training session held on October
25 & 26 from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. The
training will prepare tutors to work with
adults and teach basic skills in
teaching adults to read and write. Call
