One way to thank and recognize volunteers working in literacy in your community is to nominate them for an NWT Outstanding Volunteer award. Nomination deadline is March 1, 2005.

Nominations can be made in the following categories: youth, elder, individual and group.

The awards are sponsored by the Department of Municipal and Community Affairs and the Northwest Territories Power Corporation. Territorial winners receive recognition during Volunteer Week, April 17-23. They also receive $500 to give to a volunteer group of their choice.

For more information contact MACA regional offices, or Sarah-Joy Kallos at 873-7988 or sarahjoy_kallos@gov.nt.ca.
