Upcoming Community Workshops


Fort Providence
We will be going to Fort Providence at the end of January to work with the Family Literacy Coordinator. We will be doing a variety of activities in the community.

  • 1-2-3 Rhyme With Me with the Aboriginal Head Start Program
  • Proposal writing workshops
  • Family literacy training
  • Books in the Home with adult learners

Fort Simpson
The Community Literacy Facilitator will be going to Fort Simpson in February for a variety of workshops:

  • Program planning and proposal writing
  • Family literacy training
  • Community literacy meeting

Beaufort Delta Region
We will be traveling to the Beaufort Delta region to deliver several workshops.

Inuvik
We will be delivering the Tools for Community Building workshop in Inuvik for the Inuvik Literacy Commitee. This three day workshop focuses on the tools needed to develop and deliver community-based literacy programs.

Day One: Community, Culture and Literacy
Day Two: Program Planning
Day Three: Proposal Writing

Tsiigehtchic
We will also be delivering a range of workshops in Tsiigehtchic for community members. There is a lot of interest in Tsiigehtichic to develop a plan for family literacy programs. We will deliver the following workshops:

  • Program planning and proposal writing sessions
