Welcome to Marianne Bromley
We would like to welcome Marianne Bromley to our team at the NWT Literacy Council. She will be working with communities in her new role as the Literacy Coordinator.
Marianne has been in the North for over 30 years. Marianne has lots of experience in facilitating workshops, developing resources and working with communities. She worked with the Yellowknife District #1 Education Board for three years as their Coordinator of Aboriginal Programming.
Marianne is very interested in working with people to preserve Aboriginal language and culture.
Another of Marianne’s passions is the environment and she loves the outdoors.
We would also like to welcome Jill Vaydik to the NWT Literacy Council. Jill will be helping Marianne as the Literacy Coordinator Trainee. She will also be helping on the Ulukhaktok Literacies Research Project.
Jill was born in Yellowknife, and has lived in the NWT for most of her life. She recently graduated from the University of Victoria with a BA in linguistics. Previously, she worked as a Student Case Officer at NWT Student Financial Assistance.
She spends a lot of her spare time at the arena, skating and coaching with the YK Speed Skating Club. She also likes to ski and play the guitar, and of course she loves to read.
