Year in Review
- Since September, we provided training to over 140 people from
most communities (with several more training opportunities to
go).
- We continue to add to our website, www.nwt.literacy.ca, to make
it current
and useful.
- We distributed over 800 packages for NWT Literacy
Week and Family Literacy Day to schools, organizations, community
groups, adult upgrading programs, health centres and interested
individuals.
- We participated in the NWT Literacy Strategy evaluation
and proposed many changes that are now happening.
- We delivered
five Program Planning and Proposal Writing workshops this
year.
- We continue to work in partnership
with other literacy
councils, community groups,
government and corporations to promote literacy and
life-long learning.
- We have representation from each region on our board.
- We developed new training workshops upon the request
of people in
the literacy field.
