Year in Review

  1. Since September, we provided training to over 140 people from most communities (with several more training opportunities to go).
  2. We continue to add to our website, www.nwt.literacy.ca, to make it current and useful.
  3. We distributed over 800 packages for NWT Literacy Week and Family Literacy Day to schools, organizations, community groups, adult upgrading programs, health centres and interested individuals.
  4. We participated in the NWT Literacy Strategy evaluation and proposed many changes that are now happening.
  5. We delivered five Program Planning and Proposal Writing workshops this year.
  6. We continue to work in partnership
with other literacy councils, community groups, government and corporations to promote literacy and life-long learning.
  7. We have representation from each region on our board.
  8. We developed new training workshops upon the request of people in the literacy field.
