Canada Post Literacy Awards

The Literacy Awards were established by Canada Post in 1993 as a means to celebrate the achievements of both adult learners and those who have helped them learn to read and write. By publicly acknowledging these efforts, the Literacy Awards continue today to inspire thousands of Canadians to improve their reading and writing skills and to reach their personal literacy goals.

You are invited to nominate a deserving individual, program or business from your community for a 2006 Canada Post Literacy Award. Canada Post will present awards in four categories: Individual Achievement, Educator, Community Leadership, and Business Leadership.

Each winner in the Individual Achievement and Educator categories will receive a notebook computer and winners in the Community Leadership category receive cash awards of $2,000.

All winners receive certificates of achievement and public recognition, and transportation as needed to the awards ceremony in their province or territory.

Act now - nominations must be received no later than midnight EDT, Friday, May 26, 2006. For more information go to: http://www.canadapost.ca/personal/corporate/about/community/literacy/
