Literacy Week sparks reading enthusiasm in Inuvik

All over the NWT communities held special Literacy Week celebrations. Inuvik is one example of a community that held lots of exciting events:

The library held special activities like homework help, crafts and a reading contest.

Suzanne Robinson kicked off her family literacy program at the Community Learning Centre during literacy week. The program will run every Tuesday night at 7:00 pm until Easter. Everyone is welcome!

And 70 kindergarten students received their Family Learning Kits developed by the NWT Literacy Council and funded through Education, Culture and Employment. This is the last year for the project, but Suzanne Robinson hopes to find support in her community to continue the project.
